Method of Application:
Step 1 – Surface Preparation:
Ensure the area is clean and dry. Sweep the surface thoroughly with a soft or hard-bristled broom to remove dust, debris, or contaminants that can affect adhesion.
Step 2 – Pre-Heating:
Pre-heat the surface using a propane torch to remove residual moisture and allow the FlexBand to tack to the surface.
For concrete, brick, stone, or iron surfaces, apply Thermoplastic High Penetration Primer and allow it to dry fully.
Step 3 – Positioning:
Unroll and position FlexBand Overbanding Tape onto the pre-heated surface. Trim to the required length if necessary.
Step 4 – Application:
Heat the tape evenly with the torch held perpendicular to the surface. Continue heating until the material becomes molten and fully conforms to the substrate.
On asphalt, a faint imprint of the original surface texture should remain visible through the melted FlexBand.
Required Heating Temperature: Minimum 190 °C
Traffic-Ready Time: 5–10 minutes (recommends allowing 10 minutes to ensure maximum performance)
Storage & Shelf Life:
Store in dry conditions between 5–40 °C, away from direct sunlight.
FlexBand will not become brittle even if exposed to colder temperatures.
Shelf life: 12 months when stored in original, unopened packaging.
