The cube mould is a one-piece, sacrificial EPS mould designed for the production of concrete cube test specimens. Manufactured as a single EPS box, it provides a watertight and non-absorbent solution for consistent and reliable cube formation in accordance with BS EN 12390-200 Part 1.

Engineered for simplicity and safety, these moulds require no assembly and allow concrete cubes to be cured directly in a water tank. After curing, the EPS mould can be carefully broken away from the concrete specimen and recycled, making it a practical and efficient option for laboratory and site testing environments.

Key Features:

• One-Piece Sacrificial Design: No assembly required, ensuring consistent geometry
• EPS Construction: Lightweight, watertight, and non-absorbent
• Standards Compliance: Internal dimensions conform to BS EN 12390-200 Part 1
• Water Curing Compatible: Cubes can be cured directly in water tanks
• Safe Handling: Lightweight design eliminates the need for heavy lifting equipment
• Recyclable Material: EPS mould can be broken away and recycled after use

Applications:

• Production of concrete cube test specimens
• Laboratory and site-based concrete testing
• Quality control and compliance testing in construction
• Temporary moulding applications requiring non-calibrated moulds

Specifications:

Material: Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
Density: Minimum 20 kg/m³

150 mm Cube
• Internal Dimensions: 150 × 150 × 150 mm
• External Dimensions: 190 × 190 × 180 mm (H)
• Box Quantity: 48

Calibration:

The mould is not a calibrated item. BS EN 12390 (Section 5.1) permits the production of concrete cubes using non-calibrated moulds, provided checks are carried out on the flatness of load-bearing faces and the perpendicularity of sides relative to the base. These requirements are consistently met through the mould’s one-piece construction, which eliminates assembly-related variation.

Material Handling & Storage:

• EPS softens at temperatures above 70 °C; store in a cool environment
• Prolonged exposure to UV light may cause yellowing and reduce mechanical strength; store away from direct sunlight
• Do not expose to naked flames or heat sources
• Avoid contact with petrol-based chemicals, which will dissolve EPS

The moulds provides a lightweight, compliant, and practical solution for concrete cube production. Its one-piece EPS design ensures consistency, ease of handling, and reliable performance for routine concrete testing applications.
