This device is used for the determination of resistance to fragmentation.

EN1097-2 specifies two test methods, one is the Los Angeles Abrasion Machine (AG175) and the other is the Impact Tester.

The machine consists of a frame and anvil, specimen holder with 170mm diameter mortar and pestle and a motorised lifting device and drop hammer with ram head.
